"Internet Marketing Blogs that Beg to be Bookmarked"

By Merle http://www.PayPerClickResearch.com   004_17

Let's face it, Blogs on the topic of Internet marketing are a dime a dozen. Everyone and their dog seems to have one. I'll be the first to admit it takes a lot to impress me. Some blogs are just boring and uneventful. But then there are some that make me want to come back again and again.

So, what are the qualities of a great blog? Well, for me it's one that offers me something of value, whether that be in the form of valuable information, or points me in the direction of free products or services. It's all about me. By the same token, I do appreciate a blogger with a sense of humor or strong personality. If you're stiff and mechanical it's just not for me. Show me who you really are and what makes you tick.

One final point. Don't forget about design. Blogs that are easy on the eyes, uncluttered and simple get my vote every time. If it has a black background and white text I'm out of there in a big hurry.

Create Your Own RSS Buttons for Your Blog

In case you haven't noticed today is Friday the 13th. As a very superstitious person I tend to try and keep a low profile to avoid any bad luck. I did go and meet my girlfriend for lunch and was almost hit in the parking lot. See what I mean. No matter if you believe in bad things happening on Friday the 13th or not, if you see a black cat my suggestion would be for you to go the other way, at least for today.

Back to the subject on hand. If you've been looking for a free tool to create RSS buttons or "chicklets" for your blog consider this your "Valentines Present". Don't say I never gave ya nothing (LOL)

"Google's "Display Ad Builder" Makes You Look Marvelous"

"By Merle http://www.PayPerClickResearch.com

If you use Google Adwords for your pay-per-click advertising, you'll want to sit up and pay attention. Google has introduced a new tool for their users called "Display Ad Builder". It's purpose is to help you make professional graphical ads with no design experience.

If you're already an Adwords user, you can access the "Ad Builder" from within the Adwords interface. Inside you'll find over 40 professionally designed templates to choose from. You can customize the colors, fonts, images and text of each template to your exact specifications. You can also upload your own images, logos and videos to use in the creative process and add your own text. If you're all thumbs when it comes to design, this is really going to be of great assistance to you.

The ads created with Google's Ad Builder will be run on Google's content network which has over one million website partners to date. Only those who choose to run image or video ads can display these graphical ads on their site, so if you're an Adsense user and haven't opted in for image and video ads, and would like to run these ads on your site, make sure that you do.

Google's new tool is available to all advertisers in the U.S. and Canada. For more information see:

http://www.google.com/adwords/displayadbuilder/

If you've been holding back on running image based ads in your pay-per-click advertising, here's your opportunity to look like a pro, no design school needed.

"Counting Conversions with Yahoo's Search Marketing Tool"

By Merle http://www.payperclickresearch.com/

Ever wondered how well your Yahoo Search Marketing advertising is converting? If you're spending money on any type of pay-per-click marketing, it just makes sense to track how many of your visitors are turning into customers. If you don't know, you're just throwing good money away.

So, how are you supposed to know what's working and what's not with your ad campaigns. Well, Yahoo has their own search marketing tool you can use to measure those conversions called "Conversion Counter". The tool is free to use as part of your Yahoo Search Marketing account.

With Conversion Counter, you can track how successful your ad campaigns really are. This tool will show you how many clicks it takes for someone to convert.

So what is a conversion? A conversion happens when someone clicks on your ad, visits your website and performs the "wanted action". That "action" can range from just registering to use your site, making a purchase, signing up for your newsletter, or downloading something. Conversion is the wanted response from your ad campaigns. Some type of action is performed after clicking through to your website.

You'll find Conversion Counter under the administration tab in your Yahoo marketing account. It can track results from “Sponsored Search”, and their “Content Match” programs. Don't click the activate button until you have pasted the necessary code onto your "conversion page". The conversion page of your site is usually the confirmation page or thank you page that appears after someone purchases or signs up at your site.

By using what's called "event tags", you can track different conversion events such as tracking a newsletter sign up, a download, or an actual purchase. It can even record "assists" which will tell you the number of times a particular keyword or phrase in your pay-per-click campaign assisted in a conversion.

You can also assign a revenue value to be associated with each conversion. This will tell you how profitable your campaign keywords really are. There are two options:

1) Constant Average Value: You specify a specific dollar
amount to be used with each conversion.

2) Dynamic Value: The dollar amount is dynamically updated.
This is a good choice if you sell multiple products at
different prices.

Conversion Counter also tracks the type of visitor that converts:

1) New - (1st time visitor)
2) Returning - (Someone who's been there before)
3) Customer - (At least one conversion before)
4) Repeat Customer - (2 or more conversions in past)
5) Cookies Off - (Those with cookies off)

Having access to this sort of information is invaluable to any marketing campaign.

The code on your page is invisible to those using your website. The information being tracked will appear under the "reports and campaigns" section of your Yahoo account.

If you use Yahoo Search Marketing and haven't been tracking your conversions, now that you know how easy it is you have no excuse not to implement it. Knowing how well your site is converting browsers into customers, and which keywords are performing best, can help you to make more informed decisions when it comes to your next marketing campaign. And that's information you can literally bank on.

"Social Network Marketing: Advertising to Facebook Users"

"Social Network Marketing: Advertising to Facebook Users"

By Merle http://www.payperclickresearch.com/

In the "old days", if you wanted to meet someone, you had to get dressed up and drive to a public place. Not any more. The Internet has changed all of that with the popularity of social networking sites. Two of the biggest are MySpace and Facebook.

Basically, a social network website allows you to register, display photos and some personal information, then you can invite others to become "your friends". You can meet thousands of people right from the comfort ofyour living room. How great is that?

Facebook has an audience of over 100 million people withover 24 million active users. The majority of visitorsto the site are between the ages of 18 to 34. Next to MySpace, it is the second largest social networking site online. If you'd like to advertise on Facebook and reach this young, highly targeted audience, now you can.

When setting up your ads, you can choose to target people by age, location, gender, interests, education and more. For example, you could choose to target 26 year old women who are interested in men and are single in the U.S. When making your audience selections, you'll be shown the number of users who fit your chosen profile that will see your ad. Facebook ads are displayed in the side column of almost all pages. There may be up to three ads appearing on each page.

You can also choose to buy ads on a CPC (cost per click) basis, or CPM (cost per thousand) impressions. The title of your ad can be up to 25 characters and the body text up to 135 characters in total. A small image can also be uploaded, but must fit inside a 110X80 box ad format. You are also asked to select keywords that relate to your ads.

If you decide to advertise on a CPM basis, the minimum budget you can set is $1.00 per day, with a minimum per one thousand impression bid of only $.10. They will give you bid suggestions, but you are free to set it to your needs.

If advertising on a pay-per-click basis, again, the minimum daily budget you can set is $1.00, with the minimum cost per click being one penny. Again, suggested bid amounts are given. You can set your ad to run continuously or only during specified times.

Facebook makes it easy to track your progress with downloadable Excel reports. It's easy to see how well your ads are performing at a glance.

There are three different types of reports:

1) "Responder Profiles"- This information is gleaned from users profiles, and will tell you what types of common interests people have who are clicking onyour ads.

2) "Responder Demographics"- This report tells you the sex, age and geographic location of those clicking on your ads.

3) "Advertising Performance"- Detailed reports whichshow you impressions, click-throughs, etc. This report can be broken down by month, week or time of day.

As part of their advertising program, you'll automaticallybe subscribed to Facebook's newsletter which will keep you up to date on news, updates and tips for best ad practices.

Social network marketing is an effective way to reach a highly targeted audience, and shouldn't be forgotten when putting together a well rounded marketing plan. If you haven't considered this type of advertising in the past, now's a good time to take another look. Social networks continue to grow in popularity as millions of people continue to flock to this type of website daily.
